Pushing Buttons

Last year my foremost New Year's Intention was learning to use my Mute Button. For a person that tends to over-think just about everything, it was challenging. Most of last year was spent continuing to adjust to life's changes by building skills and modifying expectations. This is hard enough without contemplating every single voice inside AND outside my head. So you see why a silencer is required.

Now this year, my foremost Intention is to push the Enter Button. I found that a good way to use that Mute Button is to not give myself the opportunity to even need it. So my plan is to take care of the task before I find myself in an endless conversation of how to actually DO the task. Considering the variety and frequency of tasks in my life, I should get lots of practice.

So there you go. Simple enough, right? One more blog and I'll raise my total from last year!

  1. I don't know if it sound so simple but I do know that if you put your mind to it you can do it. And I hope the ENTER button is here more often this year :)

Thank you so much for the blog!

  3. I still need something more than a mute button so any ideas are welcomed. Be careful that you do not over "enter" as I have.

I started 1 hour ago to do a project for Dana but I get on the Net and there is a request from Bill for help Wednesday night, from Amy to proofread as she decided to draft a blog for me (I send blogs via Amy to Ariana and she sells out to AOL for $300 million--LOL), request from Matt to help him get a job at a firm I know well, approve a letter drafted by Jennifer (sitting on it for one week, but it needs work, ugh), text from Mike he may be laid off tomorrow(no he does not work for GH, but the state)-send my full support to Mike whatever that means, Dinah sends text that you have blogged,Dinah will clearly respond before me, decide to look at the 'to do' list but it presents too many challenges so do not look tonight, now do I eat or finish project for dana?

  5. Wow, you are averaging a blog a month so far this year. ;)Seriously though, always appreciate the time you take to share your thoughts, regardless of the forum. So thank you!

  6. Can I put in a vote for more than one blog? :-)

Such an important lesson about pushing that Enter Button - sometimes we just need to take that leap and go for it. Simple in theory, tougher in practice, but so encouraging and inspiring, too. Thank you for the reminder!

  7. I don't know how I found this blog but I'm glad I did. It seems that I am going through something similar now as I tend to over think everything, have certain expectations and battle my own thoughts with the imput of others. Thank you for your wisdom and inspiration. I think you're very brave to open yourself up and share your thoughts in this blog. Please keep writing! You've inspired me to do so!
:) Jasmine P.S. you are missed on GH!

P.s. I miss you on GH!

I hope you find time to use the "enter button" here more than the "mute".

    Thanks Megan.

  10. Hey, very nice site. I came across this on Google, and I am stoked that I did. I will definitely be coming back here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table, but am just taking in as much info as I can at the moment. Thanks for sharing.
